Culli Damuth wants kids to have a safe place to go after school.

“I’ve felt so strongly about serving the Saginaw YMCA because my kids were blessed with opportunities that not all children have. I wanted to be able to provide that to as many children as possible,” says Culli, a long-term Y volunteer and current board chair. “There are so many children at risk. Children come to the Y after school, get help with homework, get a snack, go swimming … and many of them don’t go home until the building closes. That’s why youth-serving programs can make a big difference and give kids a sense of security.”

Culli and Dr. Thomas Damuth started the Damuth Family Fund for their 20th wedding anniversary.

“We didn’t want to go on a trip without our kids, so we started a fund to benefit children and families instead,” says Culli.
