The process of applying to colleges, finding scholarships and writing essays can be daunting. But, knowledge is power! Each year, we help put on “Knowledge for College,” a free information night for high school juniors, seniors and parents. Join us on Oct. 22 to get the information you need for your college and scholarship applications.

LeeAnn Martuch, program officer at the Saginaw Community Foundation, will demonstrate how to navigate the foundation’s online scholarship application in Show Me the Money. SCF administers more than 150 different scholarships, so this is a great session to attend if you’re looking for ways to pay for school!

In Write to the Point, students will learn how to properly construct a written essay for college and scholarship applications. Often, essays are a critical part of an application.

During the evening, you also can meet college admission reps from various Michigan colleges and universities. By learning more about what each school has to offer, you can choose the college that is right for you.
