Increased Funding Available for Arts Projects

The Saginaw Arts and Enrichment Commission (SAEC), region seven administrator for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) regranting program, announces that funding is available for arts projects to registered nonprofit organizations, schools and artists in Arenac, Bay, Midland and Saginaw counties. MCACA will offer grant opportunities in six program areas which exist to encourage, initiate and facilitate an enriched artistic, cultural and creative environment in Michigan.

 

• Program for Operational & Project Support (POPS): $5,000 to $50,000 (tiered levels)
• Capital Improvements: $5,000 to $75,000 (tiered levels)
• Regional Arts Projects Minigrants: Up to $4,000
• Regional Professional or Organizational Development Minigrants: Up to $1,500
• Arts In Education Residency Program: $5,000 to $20,000
• New Leaders Arts Council of Michigan Grant Program: Up to $2,500

The MCACA Regional Minigrant program is administered locally by the Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission. A link to the FY2014 MCACA Minigrant Arts Projects and Professional or Organizational Development grant guidelines and application is available on-line at www.ArtSaginaw.org by clicking on the “MCACA Minigrant” tab. Applications must be submitted online by October 15, 2013 and projects funded must be completed between January 1, 2014 and September 30, 2014. Minigrant applicants are encouraged to participate in the Michigan Cultural Data Project (CDP).

 

Minigrants provide funding for locally developed, high quality arts projects, which provide special opportunities to address local arts needs and increase public access of the arts. The Professional & Organizational Development grant program provides funding to assist arts organizations and arts professionals acquire services or skills to strengthen the administrative infrastructure of their organization. Any nonprofit organization or government body including service organizations, public schools, cities, townships, etc. from the four counties may apply.
