Employment Opportunity: Scholarship Program Assistant

 

Saginaw Community Foundation administers over 190 scholarships that are accessible with one online application. This process opens on November 1 and closes on February 15. The Scholarship Program Assistant will work with the Program Officer and the Database Manager to ensure that all scholarship awards are made in accordance with defined criteria and in a timely manner. This is a part-time, 20-hours per week position. Please submit a cover letter and resumé via email to LeeAnn Martuch, leeann@saginawfoundation.org, by Friday, January 27.

 

Responsibilities:

• Update and review current coding for qualifications in Granted Edge (GE) for each of the individual scholarship funds

• Updating GE listing to include specifics on each scholarship (use of funds, evaluating weights)

• Update the “Scholarship Agreements” for each individual scholarship

• Review finished applications for completion and accuracy including letters of recommendation and transcripts

• Print and collate scholarship review packets, process them for mail, email or pickup

• Develop and update Excel Spreadsheets with final scores from reviewers

• Assist with downloading specific scholarships to determine if the applicant does or does not qualify for each of the scholarships

• Process individual scholarships by adding the required weight assigned to each of the evaluating criteria

• Schedule and coordinate interviews with applicants as needed

• Assist with process of determining what scholarship(s) each applicant will be considered for

• Assist with mail merge for each student with appropriate letter and additional documents

• Various other duties needed to complete the scholarship processes

 

Skills:

• Computer skills necessary with emphasis on Excel and Word

• Ability to learn other computer programs including Blackbaud and Granted Edge products (training will be provided)

• Commitment to excellence and accuracy with strong attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills

• Team player attitude

• Flexibility and willingness to work until the job is done

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
