Thomas P. Orr Scholarship

September 19, 2012

The Thomas P. Orr Scholarship Fund was established at Freeland High School in September 1999 and transferred to the Saginaw Community Foundation in 2006. “A great school district can only be developed with great leadership.” This was Tom Orr’s philosophy and goal for the Freeland Community School District. This scholarship fund was established in memory of Mr. Orr who was the Superintendent of the Freeland Community School District for 15 years. He was extraordinarily proud of this district and the pride that the Freeland community and its students regularly demonstrate. May his memory live on in the hearts and lives of all who knew him and may the recipients of this scholarship never forget the importance of great leadership.
