Robert E. Stark and Martin H. Stark Scholarship

The Robert E. and Martin H. Stark Scholarship was established in 2003 to further educational opportunity and the general well-being of the Saginaw area.

 
Robert E. Stark was a native of Saginaw and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1937. A Saginaw businessman, attorney and civil rights support he died in 1976.

 
Martin H. Stark, also a Saginaw native, graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1941. He is the founder, former owner and manager of Arrow Paper Products Co. Actively involved in the community, Marty was the Chairperson of OIC of Metro Saginaw, 1965-1999, former chairperson of the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce, and former president of the Saginaw Manufacturing Association.

Qualifications

● Minimum 2.5 GPA
● Graduating senior or enrolled college student
● Saginaw County resident
● Pursuing a bachelors degree
● Attending a Michigan college or university
● Majoring in business or mechanical engineering
● Full-time enrollment

Evaluation Criteria

Financial need (35); essay (25); overall involvement in community, school and work activities (20); demonstrated leadership ability (10); scholastic record (10). Consideration may be given to minority students.
