Gerald A. Meyer’s passion in life was education. He dedicated his life to teaching. For over three decades, he made a dead language come alive for students in Saginaw Township Schools. As the district’s Latin teacher, Gerry donned a toga for special events and went by the formal title of “Magister” inside his classroom, taking his students back to Roman times. Along with teaching, Gerry shared his love of education and travel, taking hundreds of area students to see first-hand the places he taught about.

Gerry graduated with an B.A. in Latin from the University of Michigan in 1969. He continued his education at Saginaw Valley State University with a M.A.T. in teaching.
