Raised by his grandparents, Donald Stuart Corsaut was a longtime employee at the Delphi/GM Foundry who found great pleasure in his work. Described by his friends as a brilliant and generous man, Donald enjoyed working with his hands and wanted to help someone whom everyone else thought did not have a chance. His heart was in helping the underdog succeed. The Donald Stuart Corsaut Memorial Scholarship was established as an enduring legacy to a special man and his dream of taking a chance on someone who has a special spark.

 

 
 

Qualifications

● Saginaw County resident
● Cumulative GPA between 2.5 – 3.0
● Attending an accredited school or vocational education program
● Preference may be given to a student studying machine tool operations, industrial supervision, skilled trades or mechanical design technology
● Pursuing an undergraduate degree, Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification, or journeyman’s card
● Part- or full-time enrollment 
    

Evaluation Criteria

Commitment to career as demonstrated in essay (30); community service (20); extracurricular/school activities (15); overall involvement in community, school, and work activities (15); academic record (10); work experience (5); financial need (5).
