Dr. Foster B. Gibbs Scholarship

The Dr. Foster B. Gibbs Scholarship is designed to recognize a young man or woman who has taken full advantage of the educational opportunities offered by the City of Saginaw school district.

 

When establishing this scholarship, Dr. Gibbs said, “It is my hope that this modest provision will help open doors of knowledge and opportunity, building upon what has already been provided by the school district of the City of Saginaw, leading to quality employment and a fulfilling life of community service for the recipient.”

 

 

 

Qualifications

● Minimum 2.5 GPA
● Graduating senior from Arthur Hill High School or Saginaw High School
● Must have identified and be in the process of completing a senior year program of studies that will fulfill all graduation requirements, including the completion of a shared-time course of studies at either the Saginaw Career Complex or the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy
● Full-time enrollment
● Attending a Michigan college/university

Evaluation Criteria

Achievement in Saginaw Public Schools, including performance on the senior project; financial need; school and community service; recommendations.
