Saginaw Valley Ag Heritage Scholarship

Established by the Saginaw Valley Agricultural Association, the Saginaw Valley Ag Heritage Scholarship honors the region’s rich agricultural heritage while preparing students to shape its future.  Scholarships will be awarded to deserving students majoring in fields such as (but not limited to) agricultural engineering, agriscience education, animal science, crop/soil science, environmental economics, food science/management, forestry, horticulture or parks and recreation.  Through this scholarship, the Association plans to encourage leadership among practitioners of food and environmental careers.

 

 
 

 

Qualifications

● Graduating high school senior or current college student
● 2.5 minimum GPA
● Must be a current or prior member of a Saginaw County 4H, FFA or similar program based in Saginaw County 
● Pursuing a career in agriculture or ag-related occupations (see listing above)
● Demonstrated leadership ability
● Must have exhibited at the Saginaw County Fair or provided service (can include volunteer work) to the fair
 

 

 

Evaluation Criteria

Scholastic record (20); recommendation letters (10); leadership (10); essay (10); participation in 4H or FFA, or participation in the Saginaw County Fair (20); school activities (10); community activities (10); farm and/or work experience (10).
