The Scott Durand Memorial Scholarship, established in 2000, is dedicated to the memory of Terry “Scott” Durand II. The purpose of this scholarship is to help other young scholar-athletes.

Scott loved life. He made the absolute most of all his talents, both physical and mental. He was never afraid to try something new. Whatever he attempted, he did his best. He had a strong work ethic and was a friend to all. He always had time for someone who needed help.

Scott graduated from Swan Valley High School near the top of his class in 1992. His classmates voted him the “Top Male Graduate.” Scott loved football and played for the Vikings. As a senior, he received “All Conference Honorable Mention” honors at offensive guard.

Scott continued his education at Michigan Technological University, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Until his passing, he worked for RC Associates as a staff engineer.
